| What is REDD? REDD stands for "Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation" in Developing Countries. REDD is more promising in terms of carbon emission reductions at remarkably low costs, while at the same time it would ensure the long-term sustainability of the flow of ecosystem goods and services. Negotiations to include REDD in the post-Kyoto climate change agreement are scheduled to complete in December 2009 at the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change. |
