Fauna & Flora International (FFI) and Macquarie Group have formed a Carbon Forests Taskforce to invest in the management of tropical forests and generate carbon credits for sale. Over the next 3 years, the Taskforce aims to support at least six forests at risk from deforestation in South East Asia, South America and Africa. The Taskforce expects to work in partnership with governments, land holders and local communities to reduce deforestation at these projects sites over the long-term. The Taskforce will address the drivers of deforestation by developing new economic opportunities for forest-dependent communities.
